The morning has passed while we were crossing the Ring of Kerry stopping at each corner or free plot to admire the scenery breathtaking and to take some pictures. Then we insert the next stage in the navigator: Killarney.
We park next to the church, we go in, then buy lunch at the nearby supermarket and walk the streets of downtown looking for a corner where we can have lunch.
La mattinata è volata mentre macinavamo km sul Ring of Kerry e fermandoci ad ogni angolo o piazzola libera per ammirare paesaggi da togliere il fiato e per scattare le meritate foto.
Dopodiché inseriamo nel navigatore la prossima tappa: Killarney.
Parcheggiamo di fianco alla chiesa, entriamo, compriamo il pranzo nel supermercato lì vicino e passeggiamo per le vie del centro in cerca di un angolo dove mangiare.
After lunch we go (it’s free) to Killarney National Park. We walked through this boundless park for about two hours and we met the Italian couple who had taken the taxi with us the first evening after we arrived in Dublin directed to the Morgan Hotel. Do you remember? I mentioned it here.
So, after nearly a week, we have met them again, they had gone around the island opposite, and we found ourselves without giving us an appointment in the same place at the same time. How small is Ireland! 😉
They recommend us to go further north, in counties of Mayo and Sligo, poorest and more pristine, where nature is wild and the landscapes are much more beautiful. In our route they aren’t provided because there isn’t enough time to see everything. We will try it, but without overdoing it. We’re on holiday
Dopo pranzo entriamo (è gratis) nel Parco Nazionale di Killarney. Abbiamo passeggiato per questo sconfinato parco per più o meno due ore e, udite udite, abbiamo incrociato la coppia di italiani che avevano preso con noi il taxi la prima sera appena arrivati a Dublino e diretti al Morgan Hotel. Vi ricordate? Ne ho parlato qui.
Ecco, dopo quasi una settimana, li abbiamo incontrati di nuovo: loro avevano fatto il giro inverso dell’isola, e senza darci appuntamento ci siamo trovati nello stesso luogo allo stesso momento. E’ proprio piccola, l’Irlanda! 😉
Ci consigliano di spingerci più a nord, nelle contee di Mayo e Sligo, più povere e incontaminate, dove la natura è selvaggia e i paesaggi molto più belli. Nel nostro itinerario non sono previste, però, perché non c’è abbastanza tempo per vedere tutto. Faremo il possibile, ma senza strafare. Siamo in vacanza!
As for the Ring of Kerry, I let the pictures taken in the afternoon in the Park speak to you, then it’ll be the turn of the small fishing village which gives name to the Peninsula: Dingle!
But you have to wait for Part 3!
Come per il Ring of Kerry, lascio parlare le foto scattate nel pomeriggio all’interno del parco, dopodiché sarà la volta del piccolo paesino di pescatori che dà nome a un’altra penisola: Dingle!
Ma dovete aspettare la Parte 3!
